In December of 2004, when American tennis player Ashley Harkleroad was just 19 years old, she married fellow tennis pro Alex Bogomolov, Jr. and decided to retire from tennis. The retirement lasted just six months, and the marriage lasted just two years. They divorced in October of 2006. Harkleroad claimed the marriage was a result of both her defiant streak and her traditional upbringing in Georgia, as she was tired of hearing people say that she was living in sin.
