After reportedly starting a relationship at the 2006 Australian Open, Radek Stepanek proposed to Martina Hingis in Prague after the season finished. Their engagement only came to light at the beginning of 2007. Hingis commented that she was surprised it had taken so long for people to notice her ring. Later that year, an ATP spokesman announced that the two had split "but will remain good friends."
